Duct Tape used to be Duck Tape

I listened to some great podcasts over the weekend and had a very serindipitous encounter with Duct Tape. Dan Bricklin (inventor of spreadsheets) talks with the gillmor gang about ‘utility products’ in the ‘long tail’ using the analogy of unforseen uses of Duct Tape. You can bet the inventors didn’t know it would be known as ‘100 mile an hour tape’.

While preparing a podcast to analyse Dan’s comments and some stuff Mena Trott from six apart said, I listened to an episode of great moments in science from Dr Karl – on Duct Tape!!

It turns out that it was originally called – Duck Tape.
