I need to buy a new LCD monitor and like the look of the BENQ Fp241W.
Here is the skinny on what I have found so far (since you asked Bruce)
<$700 – Acer widescreen 22" at $650, down to 19" at $300. None of them (or equivalent brands) have more than vga/dvi inputs.
$1,000 – BENQ 24" or DELL 24". The BENQ has HDMI, both have the full range of analog video, DVI, usb etc. and do 1920×1200.
>$1,500 – Apple. By far the best screens with highest res but only single input.
See my delicious tag for the gory details.
p.s. Matt – thanks for your suggestion in comments, this post is being written on one of those Dell DellTM 2407WFP 24" UltraSharpTM Wide Screen Flat Panel LCD Monitors (on loan from a mate). Its pretty good but lacks HDMI input and for around a grand would want to have everything.
Any suggestions for something better?
My criteria are lots of inputs (this has em all + HDMI), quality, coolness and around a thousand bucks.
