The old geezers I play guitar with have organised three fun gigs over the next few weeks – we would love too see you at one or more of them:
- Fri 5th Oct, Raglans, Flinders st Adelaide (8 till late).
- Sun 14th Oct, Duke of Brunswick, Gilbert st Adelaide (lunchtime).
- Sat 20th Oct, Zema Estate, Coonawarra (all arvo).
The first gig will be a great chance to pop in for a drink and a look early, buy us a drink and maybe hang around to dance the last set away. (hint: eligible single blokes, the O.T. pub crawl might just finish up at raglans round midnight).
The second is a chance for friends and family who can’t make the trip to the South East to see us and our very talented boys in action over a quiet lunch in the city. All welcome but would like an idea of numbers for meals. If ya just wanna sticky beak then drop in after lunch for what should be a v.pleasant arvo.
Finally ‘ROCKIN the TERRA ROSSA’ has got completely out of hand and should be a real blast. It is quite a drive (between Naracoorte and Mt Gambier) and the food and booze will be flowing – so book accomodation if you plan to come. More details from Mr Sly below:
You may remember we have a special gig happening in Coonawarra in October –
Fathers and Sons, at Zema Winery, Coonawarra on Saturday, October 20.
As the Zema Winery publicity states:
‘ROCKIN’ THE TERRA ROSSA’ is part of the Coonawarra Cabernet Celebrations. Visit http://www.coonawarra.org
Kick back, relax and enjoy ‘Rockin’ the Terra Rossa’ with live music from ‘Fathers and Sons’ featuring wine and music industry identity David Sly. Fathers and Sons are a bunch of crusty old dads who knock about in their own bluesy rock n roll band, the Geezers, who have the good fortune to share the stage with their talented teenage sons, closing the generation gap with a variety of ensembles as they swap instruments and musical genres throughout the day – playing everything from soothing jazz, to sweet melodic pop, to shoe shufflin rock n roll and big ballsy blues songs. Wine and food available – Strictly no BYO
Date: Saturday October 20. Times: 12noon to 5pm Location: Zema Estate – if you’re keen, book accommodation!
Now we have a CITY gig that you can all attend, to share in this fun experience.
The Duke of Brunswick Hotel has given us a city warm-up date for Geezers/ Fathers and Sons, in the dining room at the Duke of Brunswick, Gilbert St, city, at lunchtime on Sunday October 14 – the week before Coonawarra – from 12.30, so that people can dine and drink while we play.
Hope to see you at one or more of these fine events.
